Une véritable sensation… en marge de la Rescue d’Adélaïde, Graham Ford, président de l’ILS, a annoncé la décision prise par la fédération internationale de confier l’organisation des mondiaux 2022 à la fédération marocaine de Sauvetage.
Les athlètes mettront ainsi le cap sur Agadir pour la Rescue qui suivra celle de 2020 en Italie !
Le continent africain accueillera donc, pour la seconde fois de son histoire, les championnats du monde. Cela traduit l’avancée de notre sport par-delà les frontières et un certain esprit d’ouverture. L’autre avancée notoire, que l’on appelle de tous nos vœux, réside dans l’arrivée du lifesaving au programme olympique. Dans cette optique, l’ILS met en avant l’épreuve de l’oceanman et prône à ce sujet le format du M Shape avec deux tours et une finale à six. Un format utilisé pour la première fois à l’échelle planétaire lors de la Rescue d’Adélaïde. Aussi avons-nous souhaité interroger les différents acteurs pour connaître leur sentiment au sujet de cette innovation majeure.

| The scoop of the Rescue in Adelaide came from Graham Ford, President of the ILS, who announced the decision taken by the International Federation to entrust the organization of the worlds 2022 to the Moroccan Lifesaving Federation. After the Rescue in Italy in 2020 the athletes will head for Agadir!
The African continent will be the host of the world championships for the second time in its history. This shows to what extent our sport has spread across borders and a certain spirit of open-mindedness. The other important development, we hope that lifesaving will be incorporated into the Olympic program. With this in mind, the ILS has put forward the oceanman and prone paddling races on an M-Shaped course with two elimination rounds. First use of this format on a world scale was during the Rescue in Adelaide. We interviewed the various actors to ask them their feelings about this major innovation.
